What Clip Editor does

The Clip Editor is the timeline the rest of Studio hands off to. Video, audio, text and images on as many tracks as you need; trim, caption, animate and reorder; export when it is right and come back to the project whenever you want to change it.

It is also why the other studios are worth using. A short from Shorts, a cleaned take from Speech Cleanup, a captioned render, a video with B-roll already placed — each of those opens here with its edits intact instead of arriving as a finished file you either accept or throw away. That handoff is the thing clipping tools do not have, and it is the reason a bad automatic cut is an annoyance here rather than a reason to start again somewhere else.

Do I have to start from another studio?
No. Open an empty timeline and build from scratch. The handoff exists so that output from Shorts, Captions, Speech Cleanup or B-Roll lands somewhere editable — it is not a required first step.
What can I put on the timeline?
Video, audio, text and images, across as many tracks as the edit needs. Trim, caption, animate and reorder them, then export.
Are my projects saved?
Yes. A project persists, so exporting is not the end of it — come back and change the edit whenever you want rather than re-cutting from the source.
Is it a CapCut alternative?
